Our goal this year is to establish a network of certified butterfly and bee habitats throughout Topanga Canyon and Malibu. By supporting our mission, you'll help create a sanctuary for these vital creatures, ensuring their survival and the health of our local ecosystem. Join us in protecting pollinators and promoting biodiversity in our region.
Pollinators enable the growth of much of our food supply and their native habitat plants stabilize our hillsides, cleanse our water, and even purify the air we breathe. The impact, beauty, and diversity of pollinators – from butterflies, bees, moths, and wasps, to hummingbirds, bats and even lizards — has never been more important.
In 2023, proceeds from Butterfly Day enabled us to plant beautiful butterfly gardens in various locations across Topanga, California. These gardens can be found at Theatricum Botanicum, Pine Tree Circle, Topanga Library, Mountain Mermaid, Pebbles, Greener Empowerment, and Topsky. By creating these habitats, we support the growth and conservation of butterfly populations while enhancing the natural beauty of our community.
Proceeds of Butterfly Day benefit non-profit environmental and educational organizations including
Xerces Society for Invertebrate Conservation,
